Research and Markets has announced the addition of the "China Medical Device Industry Yearbook 2015" report to their offering.
Now China is one of the most important markets for many multinational companies such as GE Healthcare, Philips Healthcare, Medtronic, Boston Scientific, and Stryker, which have been actively expanding business in China via a series of strategic actions such as mergers & acquisitions, localization and partnerships.
Following the 2014 edition, this updated yearbook will present you with the clear perspectives of China's medical device industry, covering government supports (regulations & guidelines), trade data, top player actions, key events and healthcare statistics, as well as overviews of key market segments including medical imaging equipment, High-value Medical Consumables (Orthopedic Device and Cardiovascular Device) and IVDs.
There are more than 15,000 local medical device manufacturers in China and 80% of them have annual revenues less than RMB 20 million. Some local leading companies, such as Mindray, MicroPort, and Unite Imaging, are competing with multinational companies in the middle and high end markets, while a large amount of others are focusing on low end and rural markets which are also quite important for multinational companies' future growth in China. Besides China market, local manufacturers are also expanding global markets mainly in Middle East, Africa, and South America.
Based on its population and local economic development, each region in China has different healthcare resources such as annual patient visits, number of medical professionals and sick beds, which will affect hospitals' requirements on medical device products.
China's governments have released a series of policies and guidelines to support local medical device industry in the recent years, covering hospital procurement, medical device development and supervision.
